Is it possibes to have a screen saver that allows you to use pics from another location, Here is the reason, I have clients that have a band and would like to create a screen saver that will display there schedule an updated jpg file from a server?

Also how easy it create a gadget (not a rss feed) for windows 7 that will update from online. like a band schedule

Thanks

Keeping in mind that Windows based screensavers are generally written with DirectX or OpenGL, of course!

You can definitely load them by remote.

The screen savers are just binary executables, so you can use .Net to pull the images from remote. The problem would be storing them -- there's no permissions to allow saving the images, they'd be loaded into memory. Every time a screen saver starts up and stops, it would need to re-load the images.

I really don't think it's worth the hassle, in all honesty. It might be better to make some kind of program that runs in the background to update the screen saver rather than integrating it into the screensaver itself.
